About Clean Up Barrie

A community-driven organization creating cleaner, safer, and more connected neighbourhoods across Barrie and Simcoe County.

Our Story

Clean Up Barrie began in 2020 as a small online community focused on local environmental action. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into an incorporated non-profit organization dedicated to creating a cleaner, safer, and more connected city.

Today, Clean Up Barrie is one of the region’s most active environmental and community-focused organizations, combining volunteer-driven cleanups, professional environmental services, and inclusive employment programs.

Our work is rooted in one belief: meaningful change starts at the community level.

Executive Director Jen Slykhuis has dedicated much of her life to environmental stewardship and community action.
